Purchasing Genie+
After 12:00 AM on the day of your visit, you can purchase Genie+ through the MDE app.
Log onto the MDE and purchase the Genie+ service for the day. Make sure you confirm for your entire party.
Making a Lightning Lane Reservation
At 7:00 AM on the day of your visit, you can make your first reservation of the day.
On the MDE app, go to Tip Board. You can access this on the front page or through the ≡ menu.
On the Tip Board, you will see all the different rides available for you to make a reservation for. Select the ride you want to make a reservation for and the people who are going to ride with you.
If you are making a reservation right after the morning window opens (7:00 – 8:00 AM), the app will not show you the “next available time” as a lot of reservations are being made at the same time. Your time will be confirmed on the later screen. During the day, it will show you the next available time you can reserve.
Unfortunately, you can not make a reservation for a time later than the one you see on the app. So if Haunted Mansion is showing a 10:30 AM slot, but you want to ride it after 1:00 PM, you cannot make it for 1:00 PM until the reservations up till 1:00 PM have been booked or if that is the next available time (i.e., it is 12:55 PM right now).
Making the next Lightning Lane Reservation
After you make your reservation, you can make your next reservation either after:
a) you have used the reservation you just made
b) 2 hours have passed
c) you have canceled the reservation you just made.
There are some tips & tricks that you can use to help you maximize your Lightning Lane reservations, especially during peak times.
Making a Lightning Lane Reservation at another park (Park Hopping)
You can make reservations for other parks if you plan on park-hopping that day. Please keep in mind you cannot enter another park till 2:00 PM.
To make another reservation at another park, be sure to change the park up top on the Tip Board to search for other rides.
Tip: We recommend you book your park hopping rides later throughout the day and keep an eye on the times as they creep towards your 2:00 PM park hopping mark. The only exception is for popular rides such as Frozen Ever After or Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run where later time slots show up earlier due to demand.
Modifying/Canceling your Lightning Lane Reservation
To modify or cancel your Lightning Lane reservation, go to the reservation you want to change and select it.
Here, you will have the option to select Modify Plan to change your reservation or Cancel Plan to cancel it out right.
We hope this helps simplify making Genie+ reservations. It can get tedious at times to keep track of it all while you’re at the parks but don’t stress! The most important thing is to remember to enjoy yourself while you’re there!
